  • Provide accurate change and receipts to customers.

Systems Administrator

BASIC FUNCTION: A rapidly growing family owned company is expanding its IT department. Under the general direction of the IT Director, the System Administrator will serve as a systems expert who oversees and maintains mission critical systems, prepares and presents recommendations for system enhancements and/or modifications, as well as creates and maintains standards and documentation. The system administrator will leverage systems to best align corporate resources with the mission and goals.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  • Configure, deploy, operate, manage, and monitor performance of server hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and patches to support the efficient and effective operations; manage multiple Windows-based servers (virtual and on premises)
  • Oversee and maintain mission critical systems such as Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange Services
  • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, performance monitoring, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, data networks, servers, applications, and related infrastructure.
  • Install and configure systems to support infrastructure applications and asset management applications.
  • Support, troubleshoot, and maintain security for enterprise and large scale applications
  • Support directory services infrastructure, including hardware configuration and upgrades, group architecture, account maintenance, and authentication for network and application access; administer the Active Directory environment.
  • Manage, deploy, configure, and maintain servers in a virtualized and traditional environment that includes installing server hardware and components, such as disks, memory, and other components. Diagnose and resolve complex software, server, and networking issues.
  • Evaluate new network or server applications, systems and alternate solutions; develop functional specifications, standards, and requirements for hardware and/or software purchase and design to ensure optimum system and end-user performance; make recommendations for changes and additional services.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and system standards; perform thorough testing to ensure all work meets expectations and create/maintain detailed support documentation.
  • Monitor systems performance and provide/enforce security measures, troubleshooting, and maintenance needed. Protect user privacy by following best practices for handling data.
  • Work with IT personnel, third party vendors and other technical support staff to assess and resolve problems encountered by users of various servers and desktop systems involving network, internet and other computer technology; troubleshoot and solve local-area network problems; provide technical support to end-users regarding computer hardware and software.
  • Provide technical expertise to end-users regarding optimal set-up for software, hardware and network use; install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot a wide range of network and data communications software and hardware; train users in various software applications and network-related procedures;
  • Perform all related tasks and duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Principles and techniques of network operating systems and topologies, management systems, and the security implications of each.
  • Systems and procedures documentation, analysis, and development.
  • Configuration, and management of servers; system design, security, and maintenance strategies.

ABILITY TO:
