General Description:

Perform paraprofessional technical legal work and assist Chief Legal Officer of a motor fuel wholesaler and retailer in preparing and processing routine contracts and civil litigation documents. Training, close supervision, review and direction in the completion of assignments will be provided by the Chief Legal Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing basic legal documents, forms, correspondence and reports
  • Drafting contracts and security instruments
  • Contract processing, including data entry, filing, calendaring, and recording liens
  • Drafting complaints, motions, pleadings, and points and authorities under direct supervision
  • Performing basic legal and factual research
  • Filing and retrieving a variety of documents with/from various courts, recorders offices, process servers and other offices
  • Updating and organizing case, customer and computer files
  • Drafting and filing post-judgment liens
  • Attending small claims hearings
  • Obtaining, reviewing, and summarizing legal documents, including contracts, due diligence items, and other information
  • Reviewing basic legal documents and forms for completeness and conformance
  • Interacting with customers and debtors, including participating in meetings
  • Managing certificates of insurance
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Performing general/clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, making copies, scanning, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, and processing incoming/outgoing mail
  • Providing assistance to Chief Legal Officer and other departments as needed
  • Successful candidate will be required to obtain a Notary license paid for by the Company

Work experience requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, principles, rules and procedures
  • Proficient in the use of computers and related software programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Thorough knowledge of civil, contract and real estate laws
  • Ability to properly handle confidential material and confidential communications
  • Draft and analyze legal documents and correspondence
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in the preparation and review of all legal documents
  • Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Written and verbal communication sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Certificate of completion from a paralegal program recognized by the American Bar Association or an Associates’ Degree in paralegal studies.

General Description:

Under the general direction of the IT Director, the Systems Administrator will serve as a systems expert who oversees and maintains mission critical systems, prepares and presents recommendations for system enhancements and/or modifications, as well as creates and maintains standards and documentation. The system administrator will leverage systems to best align corporate resources with the mission and goals.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Configure, deploy, operate, manage, and monitor server hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and patches to support the efficient and effective operations; manage multiple Windows-based servers
  • Oversee and maintain mission critical systems such as Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange Services
  • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, performance monitoring, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, data networks, servers, applications, and related infrastructure.
  • Install and configure systems to support infrastructure applications and asset management applications.
  • Support, troubleshoot, and maintain security for enterprise and large scale applications
  • Support directory services infrastructure, including hardware configuration and upgrades, group architecture, account maintenance, and authentication for network and application access; administer the Active Directory environment.
  • Manage, deploy, configure, and maintain servers in a virtualized and traditional environment that includes installing server hardware and components, such as disks, memory, and other components. Diagnose and resolve complex software, server, and networking issues.
  • Evaluate new network or server applications, systems and alternate solutions; develop functional specifications, standards, and requirements for hardware and/or software purchase and design to ensure optimum system and end-user performance; make recommendations for changes and additional services.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and system standards; perform thorough testing to ensure all work meets expectations and create/maintain detailed support documentation.
  • Monitor systems performance and provide/enforce security measures, troubleshooting, and maintenance needed. Protect user privacy by following best practices for handling data.
  • Work with IT personnel, third party vendors and other technical support staff to assess and resolve problems encountered by users of various servers and desktop systems involving network, internet and other computer technology; troubleshoot and solve local-area network problems; provide technical support to end-users regarding computer hardware and software.
  • Provide technical expertise to end-users regarding optimal set-up for software, hardware and network use; install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot a wide range of network and data communications software and hardware; train users in various software applications and network-related procedures;
  • Perform all related tasks and duties as required.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
