Boyett Petroleum Chooses Local for Grocery Distribution

MODESTO, Calif. — Boyett Petroleum, parent company of the Cruisers convenience store chain, has tapped a regional grocery distributor.

Boyett formed a partnership with MTC Distributing and the pact is set to begin this spring. Calling it “a big move to make for Boyett,” the company said MTC will deliver goods from the Central Valley, down to Southern California, and as far north as Reno, Nev.

Boyett and MTC have long histories in the area. Boyett has been in the fuel and retail business since 1946; MTC has been in business since 1921. Both companies began in, and have remained headquartered in, Modesto.

“We’re very excited to reconnect with MTC and look forward to growing our businesses together by providing excellent service to our customers and exceeding their expectations,” said Scott Castle, vice president of retail operations at Boyett Petroleum. “Both MTC and Boyett have grown over the last 10 years by investing in their infrastructure and people and I feel we’re both committed to continued growth and innovation.”

According to Boyett, the company has “always wanted” to move from a national distributor to the regional option.
